Glixtone Fungi-Shield Anti-Mould & Black Spot Paint is a washable, decorative and highly effective fungicidal, anti-mould, matt finish paint for areas susceptible to mould and bacterial growth. It is suitable for use on any internal walls and ceilings.
Glixtone is affiliated with the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA) as a Recognised Supplier.
Landlords face an on-going battle with properties and the infestation of mould which is both unsightly and a health hazard to their Tenants. Re-decoration is expensive, time consuming and disruptive. If Health Inspectors are notified this can also be a real problem to Landlords.
Glixtone Fungi-Shield will not stop condensation or damp, however, when applied it is impossible for mould spores to survive on its surface as the active biocide is distributed evenly over the entire paint film and will continue to kill spores on contact. Glixtone Fungi-Shield offers a long lasting solution to what can be a never ending battle.

Why Does Glixtone Fungi-Shield Work?
Other Fungicidal/Anti-Mould paints use an additive which is mixed into an already made Emulsion Paint. This means that not all of the paint will carry the same amount of the Fungicide which protects against Mould growth.
Glixtone use an Acrylic Resin and their own Fungicide and an Algaecide which forms a thermal barrier to areas subject to varying temperatures and condensation, e.g. kitchens, bathrooms, shower rooms, bedrooms even Living Rooms etc.
All of the constituents of the paint are added in a formulated process and dispersed to ensure that all the pigments and constituents including UV stabilisers, algaecides, and fungicides are coated evenly in the paint blend to produce a paint that is consistent, stable and which will promote all of its anti-fungal properties.
The paint is tested and fine-tuned to ensure that its application properties are fully utilised.
This means that the active anti-fungal biocidal components are evenly bonded to the active constituent of the paint to ensure that it is evenly distributed when coated out to prevent mould infestation.
This ensures that every part of Glixtone Fungi-Shield carries the same amount of the active biocide and when applied every part of the surface will be protected.
Do I Need A Stain Block?
A stain block is only required if there is any other staining apart from Blackspot/Mould on the surface to be painted, such as water damage etc.
Limitations
- Not recommended for use in extremely humid conditions or where frequent scrubbing occurs
- Please Note: If Glixtone Fungi-Shield coatings are over-painted with anything other than Glixtone Fungi-Shield products, the fungicidal properties will be lost

Can this be used in a cellar? |

Assuming the cellar is tanked to ensure it is sealed against damp, this product could be used in dry cellar environments. It is designed for application in normal habitation environments. If areas of damp persist, you could consider Coo-Var Anti-Damp Paint as an alternative, this can be applied to slightly damp surfaces and allows for over-coating with a decorative finish if required. | |

Regarding your fungi guard shield paint, can this be painted directly over a lightly moldy wall, or do I need to remove all traces of the mold prior to painting? Thanks. |

No, this product is recommended for application to areas that are clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical prior to application, with black spots/mould to be scraped away or brushed off with a stiff fibre brush, leaving as clean a surface as possible prior to painting. To ensure the risk is lower for mould and fungi returning, you could apply Glixtone Fungi-Shield Concentrated Sterilising Solution firstly to the existing surface by brush or cloth/sponge, and allow to dry for a full 24 hours, before painting with 2 coats of Glixtone Fungi-Shield Anti-Mould & Black Spot Paint for full protection. | |

Not completely. Assuming the walls are suitably prepared as detailed in the technical datasheet, although it won't stop condensation or damp, this product can be applied to areas susceptible to mould and bacteria growth, meaning it is impossible for mould spores to survive on the surface, as the active biocide is distributed evenly over the entire paint film and will continue to kill spores on contact. An alternative to reduce condensation on treated surfaces could be N-Virol Suretherm Goodbye Mould Thermal Anti Condensation Paint. It is ideal for use on cold walls and ceilings that maybe prone to condensation, mould and heat loss, forming a thermal barrier on cold walls, and can even be overpainted or wallpapered over without affecting the performance. | |

| Question:
Can this be used on an internal plasterboard wall that keeps getting efflorescence? I have tried putting mould proof paint on before and stain blocker, but where the efflorescence happens, it peels off. I've also tried spraying the bare wall with mould remover, white vinegar but it keeps coming back. Any suggestions would be helpful within your product range if this is not the right one to go for. |

This product wouldn't be suitable to prevent efflorescence occuring without eradicating the problem firstly. Assuming the wall is clean, dry, sound and free of all surface contaminations, we'd recommend treating the surface with N-Virol Salt Neutraliser firstly, which helps neutralise the salts to prevent or reduce efflorescence, before washing with clean, fresh water and allowing to dry prior to re-decorating | |

No, this product isn't suitable for application to tiles such as ceramic bathroom or kitchen tiles. This wouldn't provide the durability or finish required as the product is intended for use on standard wall or ceiling coverings as a vinyl washable emulsion paint. Assuming the tiles are prepared in accordance with the techncial data sheet, you could consider Rust-Oleum Tile Transformation Kit as this product requires no removal of the existing tiles or priming prior to application. This is designed for use in kitchens, bathrooms and is suitable for areas subject to direct water contact. | |

Is this suitable for metal frame on windows? |

Yes it can be used on metal surfaces as long as they are pre painted and that it is good and solid. Or pre prime with a good metal primer. It will prevent mould growth on the frame but not on any rubber trim/seals. But it will not stop condensation build up and wet window ledges. | |
