Glixtone EM18 Tough-Cote High Build Textured Final Finish Coating is an extremely durable, ready to use water based final finish textured coating.  Suitable for internal and external use on virtually all common building substrates.  Provides an extremely tough, flexible and long lasting protective and decorative finish. It is also fast drying, rooms can normally be occupied within 24 hours.

Important Application Methods

Method:

• Apply to surface using a trowel in small sections and use a Plasterer’s Float to level for a smooth finish

Textured Method:

• If a higher textured finish is required then ‘Lay Off’ the pre-applied surface with an unloaded ‘Honeycomb’ roller to produce a 'stripe' texture
• Using VERY LIGHT even strokes a pattern will appear
• The slower the roller speed then higher the peaks and the faster the lower
• Always finish on the up stroke, in order to push the marble aggregate into a vertical position
• This will ensure that the texture will have a ‘peaked’ effect when dry
• This may require a little practice

Other types of patterning can be achieved using other ‘Plasters’ tools.

Be aware that the product does have a low ‘Working Time’ i.e. 20 minutes before ‘Skinning’ to provide Shower Proof protection.

Window reveals etc. can be finished with a brush in order to give a professional flat border finish.

This product can be built up in layers to the required thickness and will provide a THRU COLOUR FINISH.

Limitations

• Do not apply outside the temperature range 5°C - 28°C
• Do not apply when the temperature is likely to fall below 5°C within 4 hours
• Do not apply externally in damp or humid conditions, when rain is likely within 6 hours
• Do not apply below dpc (and do not bridge dpc)
• Not recommended for application to external fletton bricks without suitable render coat preparation
