Tikkurila GrafoTherm is a one-component water-based anti-condensation coating for steel roofing sheets, steel structures and other metal surfaces, where condensation and dripping-water problems occur. It is also suitable for mineral walls and ceilings.
Tikkurila GrafoTherm is composed of millions of micropores in the sizes 0.1–100 microns. They form a multi-layer, porous texture with excellent moisture absorption capacity. Evaporation occurs faster than with conventional coatings due to the microporous structure, which breaks the water surface tension and spreads the moisture over the coating.
For industrial and professional use only.

Surface Preparation
- Oil, grease, salts and dirt are removed by appropriate means (ISO 12944-4)
Zinc And Aluzinc Surfaces:
- Sweep blast-clean with mineral abrasives, e.g. quartz sand, to an even roughness (SaS, SFS 5873)
- If sweep blasting is not possible, the surface should be roughened by hand abrading or washed with PANSSARIPESU detergent
Aluminium Surfaces:
- Sweep blast-clean with none-metallic abrasives to an even roughness (SaS, SFS 5873)
- If sweep blasting is not possible, the surface should be roughened by hand abrading or washed with MAALIPESU detergent
Primed Surfaces:
- Industrial coil primer on the backside of the steel roofing does not require any special preparation
- Grease, salt and dirt are removed from the surface by appropriate means
- Repair any damage to the primer coat with Temaprime EE or similar product
- Note the overcoating time of primer
Stainless Steel:
- Roughen the surface by grinding or sweep blasting using non-metallic abrasives
Previously Painted Surfaces:
- Old painted surfaces should be roughened to ensure adhesion
Primer
Application
Application Conditions:
- All surfaces must be dry
- The temperature of the ambient air and surface should not fall below +10ºC during application and drying
- Relative humidity should not exceed 80%
- The surface temperature of the steel should remain at least 3ºC above the dew point
- The temperature of paint itself should be above +15°C for proper application
- Good ventilation is required in confined areas during application and drying
Application:
- By airless spray or when not possible by brush or roller
- Mix the paint thoroughly before use
- For spray application the paint can be thinned 0–5%
- Airless spay nozzle tip 0.027”–0.029” or bigger and nozzle pressure 150–180 bar
- Spray angle max. 400º
- Use a spray unit with an output of minimum 2.7 l/min
- If sieves should be used, use a course sieve, e.g. 30–60 mesh
Do not overcoat with any other type of coating as it causes a loss of the absorbing properties of this product.

Hi was looking to see on average what a 18L can arear in meters what it will cover I wood be applying with a brush as of the roof type and needing to do the perlins Thank you kind regards J Spence |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
The theoretical coverage rate for this product is 1.8 to 1.1m² per litre. So approximately 32.4m² to 19.8m² per tin.
Tom K on 2024-01-25 16:49:38 | Question:
Is this available in the US? Would it work on existing metal roof on our A frame log home? It would have to be sprayed blindly between the metal roof and fiberglass insulation. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Thanks for your enquiry, unfortunately we don't have any outlets in the US and can't deliver to an address not classified as Mainland UK.
Thomas James on 2023-05-22 22:03:37 | Question:

The theoretical coverage rate for this product is 1.8 to 1.1m² per litre.
Mark on 2022-12-04 09:46:46 | Question:
Hi would this work on internal asbestos corrugated roof? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Assuming the internal areas of the asbestos roof are bare, clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet we recommend that the asbestos is primed first with Tikkurila ProSeal. Any metal fixings would also need to be primed first with Tikkurila Temaprime EE.
Nick on 2022-02-10 13:17:58 | Question:
Is a primer require when applying to untreated steel/are there any preparation instructions when applying to untreated steel? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Yes, bare, clean, dry, sound and prepared steel should be primed prior to application with Tikkurila Temaprime EE.
