Zinsser Allcoat Commercial (Water-Based) - High-Performance Acrylic Resin Interior Primer, Sealer, Finish
Designed for commercial environments. This water-based product provides exceptional coverage and adhesion on a wide range of surfaces.
Applications
Zinsser AllCoat Commercial WB is perfect for:
- New cured plaster, drywall, cement, poured concrete, stucco.
- Wood or metal doors, windows, paneling, trim.
- Aluminium, clean galvanized metal, PVC, glossy laminates.
- Suspended ceiling tiles and frames.
- Ideal for large commercial painting projects.
Its special formula allows direct application over glossy paints, clear finishes, Formica®, Plastisol, UPVC, metals, fiberglass, and even ceramic tile without the need for pre-sanding or de-glossing.
Performance Characteristics
- Prime and finish most surfaces in one coat, creating a uniform finish.
- High hiding power and dead flat finish, resists grain raise on new wood.
- Quick drying, can be sanded within 1 hour, making it an ideal enamel undercoat.
- Flash rust resistant and suitable for airless spray application.
- Low odour and easy cleanup with soapy water.
Limitations
While Zinsser AllCoat Commercial WB is a versatile and effective product, it is not recommended for exterior use or for application on floors, decks, or any surfaces that are subject to immersion or prolonged contact with water.

- For safety, ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants before application. Avoid dispersal into waterways and dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: No, none of the Zinsser products are recommended for application to floors. Assuming the existing coating is well adhered, it is clean, dry, sound and lightly abraded, you could consider 2 coats of Rust-Oleum 7200 Floorcoat PU, mixed to your choice of 4400+ RAL, BS or NCS Colours. This product is perfect for use on floors subjected to light to moderate foot traffic, we'd recommend applying a small test area first to ensure compatibility and adhesion. | |

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Assuming the previously painted areas are clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet you could consider Zinsser Peel Stop. This can be used on problem areas that exhibit chalking, alligatoring, cracking, flaking, and peeling. This penetrates and binds chalky residues, seals cracked or crazed surfaces providing a sound surface for primer and paint. It seeps into cracks and gaps under the edges of old paint and "glues" them down to prevent future peeling | |

This is available in matt, satin or gloss in many Ral and BS colours. If you require a matt finish you will need to prime with Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 prior to application. Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: We would always prime interior varnished surfaces with Zinsser B-I-N before applying Zinsser Perma-White or Zinsser AllCoat Exterior. Both are fine to go over Zinsser B-I-N. We're unsure where you have got the information on sanding the paint off to get a better finish, but you do not need to sand between coats when using the Zinsser products discussed. | |

Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: No, we would recommend using Zinsser B-I-N or Zinsser Cover Stain on interior hardwoods to block tannin bleed. If a water based stain block is required you could try Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Plus, it may need several coats allowing a good few hours between each coat. Zinsser B-I-N or Zinsser Cover Stain however would always be more effective. | |
