Yes assuming the self levelling compound is clean, dry and sound this product could be applied.

Arthur Slater on 2022-02-28 17:31:05 | Question:
I need to patch repair my garage floor the depth of the repair would be approx. 6mm , patch size say 400mm sq. the concrete is sound. would this product be suitable. Thank you |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Assuming the garage floor is concrete, yes this would be suitable. Concrete and stone surfaces should be dry and free from previous coatings, contaminants and loose material and at least four weeks old. Very smooth concrete or concrete with soft laitance should be etched with Rust-Oleum Mathys 108 Surfa Etch Solution. Grease or oil should be removed with Rust-Oleum Mathys ND14 Cleaner Degreaser and the area thoroughly washed off and allowed to become completely dry. 1 x 2.5kg will be enough to fill the 0.16m² hole at 6mm deep.
Steve on 2021-04-27 23:40:42 | Question:
Can this product be used on driveways which is worn and cracked |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Rust-Oleum 5180 Epoxy Repair Mortar should be used on concrete substrates only, not asphalt or tarmac. If the cracks are 3mm or less then we'd recommend Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Fine Crack Repair.
Steve Routley on 2019-06-05 00:27:42 | Question:
I have a garden tabletop made of a resin/ stone compound of some sort that suffered damage in a fall and was wondering if this product would be suitable for a repair job, and if I can lay tiles straight over it or whether it will take grout? The damaged area is approx 6cm x 3cm x 2cm deep. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
We have no experience of this product being used for this type of repair so all we could suggest it taking the smallest tin to try before carrying out the full project.
James cooper on 2019-02-15 20:19:05 | Question:
Hi, I'm looking to fix a church door. The hinge is fix into the stone, and it's wobbling. I was going to pull out hinge and clean. Fill full of epoxy and push hinge back in. Will this product be ok for this? |

Scott moore on 2019-01-02 12:30:25 | Question:
Does this react poorly if it comes in contact with aluminium |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Rust-Oleum 5180 Epoxy Repair Mortar is intended to repair damages in concrete/cementitious substrates, we are not sure where the aluminium contact would occur and we have no knowledge of any issues or reaction between the two but without knowing further details we could not confirm.
Rick on 2018-08-10 20:20:35 | Question:
Hi. I have a number of screed patches on my garage floor which are around 2-3mm in depth and perhaps 20cm sq on average. Noting on the webpage that the epoxy repair mortar achieves full strength at 5mm, would the product be suitable for screed repair like this? The footfall in the garage is minimal. Thanks |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
For these size repairs we would instead recommend the use of Rust-Oleum 5412 Epoxy Filler.
David reynolds on 2018-02-17 18:24:11 | Question:
Can the rust-oleum 5180 be used to repair cracked and broken steps including shaping around the curved face edge overhang? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Rust-Oleum 5180 Epoxy Repair Mortar provides a permanent repair to badly cracked and worn concrete and will fill holes of any shape or size, gaps, nosings, cracks etc and may be feather edged. It is primarily used for horizontal surfaces and is often used to repair steps and would be a good solution. For large amounts of vertical or overhead repairs we normally would suggest using Rust-Oleum 5110 Verti-Patch, but where possible we would recommend using Rust-Oleum 5180 Epoxy Repair Mortar on steps.
Tina B on 2017-12-19 21:39:10 | Question:
