Questions
Question about the product
Michael on 2022-09-02 11:00:49 | Question:
Will this paint be suitable for application directly on fiberglass? Resin I have used - Sicomin SR5550 sanded not primed. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
While the manufacturer has not tested this product applied to fibreglass, they see no reason why it couldnt be used assuming you test on a small area for compatibility and adhesion prior to full application. The fibreglass must be clean, dry, sound and prepared as detailed in the technical data sheet.
Mark on 2022-06-15 16:02:28 | Question:
I have a painted steel structure, is any surface treatment required prior to coating with this product? or can I apply directly to the paint? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Hempel recommend on their product data sheet this must only be applied to a bare prepared surface or another Hempel product as part of a Hempel specification. In regards to preparation, for maintance or repair spot abrasive blasting is recommended but minor areas hand or power tool preparation can be used. For new structures this must be blasted to SA2.5.
Dave on 2022-05-20 15:28:41 | Question:
Can hempel tex hi build 46410 paint be used on plywood and timber |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
While there is no real reason why this cannot be used on timber, the manufacturer does not hold test data for this application. We would recommend a testing for compatibility and adhesion on a small area prior to full application.
