ColourPicker Explained

In general we sort colours for products into 2 main groups - ‘Ready Mixed’ and ‘Tinted’.
Tinted colours will always be more expensive than Ready Mixed colours as they need to be produced at the time of order using a tinting machine dispensing colourant into a base*.
During busy periods, this means that tinted colours could take longer, for example – a ready mixed colour ordered on a 3-5 day delivery might arrive within 3 days, however a tinted colour might take the full 5 days to arrive.

To find Ready Mixed colours, search "ready mixed" or select the Ready Mixed 'colour chart'. To see Tinted colours select a colour chart such as RAL, BS, NCS, etc. or search for a colour/hue to see available or related options.

To ensure fair pricing, we split colours into ‘Price Bands’ to group together similar priced colours. If you wish to search for the cheapest tinted colours, always select Price Band 1.

We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our Products but we cannot guarantee that the colour shown on Customer’s monitor’s display will accurately reflect the colour of the Product on delivery. We recommend that Customer first purchases the smallest Product available or access an industry standard colour chart in person (and not digitally) to ensure that the colour is acceptable for its purposes.

Use as a primer in mild to medium atmospheric environments. As an intermediate or finishing coat in epoxy systems in medium to severely corrosive atmospheric environment, or as a finishing coat where the usual outdoor cosmetic appearance of epoxy paints is acceptable. May be used directly on cured zinc silicate (Galvosil products) or spray-metallised surfaces to minimise popping.

Spray data are indicative and subject to adjustment. Pressure is for a material temperature of 20°C

Overthickness should be closely controlled and never locally exceed 300 micron [12 mils] DFT. On irregular surfaces it is recommended to employ special care in avoiding over application.

Epoxy coats have an inherent tendency of chalking in outdoor exposure. This does not affect the performance of the coating.

Overcoating

Hempel’s specification supersedes any guidelines indicated in the overcoating table.
