Intended for use as a gap filling material where cables and pipework services penetrate fire compartment floors and walls. Up to 4 hours fire rating, tested to BS 476-20-1987 and BS EN1366-3-2009.

It expands slightly on curing (0.1%), to form a rigid seal and is also suitable for use in load bearing situations. Subsequent to installation it will accept further services penetrating the barrier without damage.

In general we sort colours for products into 2 main groups - ‘Ready Mixed’ and ‘Tinted’.
Tinted colours will always be more expensive than Ready Mixed colours as they need to be produced at the time of order using a tinting machine dispensing colourant into a base*.
During busy periods, this means that tinted colours could take longer, for example – a ready mixed colour ordered on a 3-5 day delivery might arrive within 3 days, however a tinted colour might take the full 5 days to arrive.

To find Ready Mixed colours, search "ready mixed" or select the Ready Mixed 'colour chart'. To see Tinted colours select a colour chart such as RAL, BS, NCS, etc. or search for a colour/hue to see available or related options.

To ensure fair pricing, we split colours into ‘Price Bands’ to group together similar priced colours. If you wish to search for the cheapest tinted colours, always select Price Band 1.

Colour reproduction of the Products on the Site is limited by the technology used to deliver web pages and by the colour representation of Customer’s own monitor and computer set-up. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our Products but we cannot guarantee that the colour shown on Customer’s monitor’s display will accurately reflect the colour of the Product on delivery. We recommend that Customer first purchases the smallest Product available or access an industry standard colour chart in person (and not digitally) to ensure that the colour is acceptable for its purposes.

Application & Installation

One square metre at 100mm thickness requires approx. 4 x 20kg sacks of QF2 Fire Protection Compound.

The QF2 Fire Protection Compound may be used in rigid walls and floors. QF2 is readily mixed with water in a bucket or concrete mixer, to consistencies that range from pourable, stiff or suitable to be trowelled.

Can be used in conjunction with other QuelStop system products such as the QWW and QuelCoil Intuwraps and the QWR fire collar.

Expands slightly on curing (0.1%), to form a rigid seal and will provide a load bearing seal at 100mm thick.

The setting time for QF2 depends on the atmospheric temperature. It may be built up further within two or three hours where large barriers are required.
