Coo-Var Teak Oil
Coo-Var Teak Oil is formulated to provide maximum protection and enhance the appearance of teak and other hardwood surfaces. Its blend of natural oils and silicone derivatives ensures deep penetration into the wood grain, restoring and preserving the wood’s natural beauty. The product offers superior water resistance, making it perfect for outdoor furniture exposed to varying weather conditions. The oil is designed to be easily absorbed into the wood, unlike traditional varnishes, giving it a natural, oiled finish.
Application and Use
This product is recommended for use on teak and other hardwoods. It is particularly suited for outdoor furniture, decks, and other wooden structures exposed to the elements. The oil enhances the wood’s durability and protects it from moisture damage, ensuring a longer lifespan. For best results, apply the oil using a brush or cloth, working it well into the wood’s grain, particularly on the end grains. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before application.

Drying and Reapplication
Once applied, the oil takes approximately 16 hours to dry under normal conditions. It is advised to allow the product to cure overnight to achieve optimal results. Reapplication is necessary every 12 months to maintain the wood’s appearance and protection. Regular maintenance will ensure that the treated surfaces retain their rich, natural look.
Limitations and Restrictions
This product should not be used on softwoods, painted surfaces, or areas subject to high heat. It is also not suitable for surfaces that have previously been coated with varnish or other sealants, as these may hinder the oil’s absorption. Ensure adequate ventilation when applying the oil, particularly in enclosed spaces.
- Do not use on softwoods.
- Do not apply over painted or sealed surfaces.
- Avoid contact with high-heat areas such as near fireplaces or stoves.
For any areas where this product is not suitable, we recommend checking the full range of outdoor furniture treatments available, such as varnishes or specialised wood oils.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Surfaces treated with this product should be cleaned regularly to remove dirt and grime, especially outdoor furniture. Use mild soap and water to clean the surface before reapplying a fresh coat of oil. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning methods as these may strip the oil and damage the wood. If needed, lightly sand the surface before reapplying.
