Application
- For professional use only
- For new build, maintenance and repair
- Finishing coat for protection of stuctural steel in severely corrosive atmospheric environment, where light-fastness and gloss retention are required
- Minimum temperature for curing is -10°C
- Maximum service temperature: 120°C (dry exposure only)
- Recommended thinner/cleaner: Hempel's Thinner 08080, Hempel's Thinner 08510
- Applicable by brush/roller, airless spray (Nozzle pressure: 150 bar [2200 psi] Nozzle orifice: 0.017-0.019) or electrostatic (Nozzle pressure: 150 bar [2200 psi] Nozzle orifice: 0.017-0.019")
- DFT 40-60 microns, WFT 80-120 microns
- Coverage 8.2 m²/L- 12 m²/L
If brush or roller application is used, more coats will be necessary to achieve the specified dry film thickness. Spray data are indicative and subject to adjustment. Pressure is for a material temperature of 20°C.
Product may be specified in another film thickness than indicated depending on purpose and area of use. This will alter spreading rate, drying and curing time and overcoating interval. For best performance, avoid excessive film thickness.
Two coats of the topcoat may be necessary to obtain full hiding power. The film formation may be adversely affected by light rain, high humidity and/or condensation during application and the following interval after application: “8 hours, 20°C/68°F”
Drying & Overcoating

Questions
Question about the product
Frank Patmore on 2022-06-07 14:15:58 | Question:
What is the expected lifetime performance of Hepathane HS55610 together with a base coat of Hempadur 45143? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This is a tricky one to answer without knowing the DFT’s that the products will be applied at and the environment they will reside in, for example coastal or inland. Also what type of surface preparation the products have been applied onto must be taken into consideration. Please can you provide this information to [email protected] | |
