Teamac Acrylic Roof Coating
Teamac Acrylic Roof Coating is formulated to provide excellent protection and decoration for various types of roofs. Whether applied to tile, brick, or asbestos roofing, this coating ensures a durable, low-sheen matt finish that not only enhances the appearance but also extends the lifespan of the roof.
Application and Usage
The coating is ideal for use on roofs constructed from tiles, bricks, and asbestos, as well as for covering barns. It is crucial to apply this product under recommended conditions to ensure optimal performance. The application process is straightforward, requiring only a brush or roller, and it dries quickly to a hard finish. However, it should not be applied in temperatures below 10°C or in high humidity, as these conditions can adversely affect the drying time and the final quality of the coating.
Performance and Durability
Designed with durability in mind, this coating offers long-lasting protection against the elements. It is non-flammable, making it safe for use in various environments, and its water-based formulation means that it is less harmful to the environment. The low VOC content further underscores its eco-friendly properties, making it a preferred choice for professionals who are mindful of environmental impact.
Restrictions and Recommendations
Not suitable for application in temperatures below 10°C, or on surfaces that are not thoroughly cleaned and dried. Additionally, it is recommended to avoid use in confined spaces without adequate ventilation, as this could lead to improper curing of the coating. For best results, consider using this product in conjunction with other roof maintenance products from the same manufacturer, ensuring a comprehensive approach to roof care.
Health and Safety
This product is classified as non-hazardous for transportation. However, it contains biocides, including CMIT/MIT (3:1) and BIT, which may cause allergic reactions. Always wear protective clothing and gloves during application and ensure adequate ventilation. Refer to the product's Safety Data Sheet for complete safety information.

Wolfgang on 2023-09-21 08:21:19 | Question:
Can we apply ahesive on top of this asbestos sealant on the exterial roof and glue 1mx 2m solar panels on top? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
This product has not been tested for this application to withstand the weight of solar panels. We would not recommend it for this application.
Shane Davies on 2018-10-17 08:11:19 | Question: Hi I have a asbestos garage roof that I want to seal to make it waterproof what can you recommend? Thanks. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: For waterproofing of asbestos roofs we recommend Rust-Oleum Mathys Primer 44 HS followed by Rust-Oleum Mathys Dacfill Waterproofing.
myra on 2018-07-31 11:51:32 | Question: I have a garage roof with some white asbestos (Been tested) - what would you recommend on products to seal the roof rather than have the asbestos removed. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: On internal surfaces (i.e. underside of the roof we would recommend Thermoguard Asbestos Encapsulating Coating, for external surfaces (i.e. top side of the roof) assuming it is pitched we would recommend Rust-Oleum Mathys Primer 44 HS followed by Rust-Oleum Mathys Dacfill Waterproofing.
Peter on 2018-06-15 14:54:09 | Question: What type of grey? A light grey or a dark grey? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: It is a dark grey close to BS 00A13.
Ian on 2016-07-25 18:16:59 | Question: Is this suitable for an corrugated asbestos sloping roof? Does it require any jointing tape? Existing roof been de-mossed. Does product require anti fungal solution before application? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Teamac Acrylic Coating is suitable for corrugated asbestos, it will seal and colour the asbestos but it is not a full waterproofing system so any damages to the asbestos, joints, fixings, etc. would have to be repaired to make the roof watertight prior to coating. The roof surface does need to be clean prior to application of the Teamac Acrylic Coating (contact us for guidance on cleaning asbestos if requried) and a fungicidal solution to treat and wash the roof with like Rust-Oleum Mathys AMW Fungicidal Wash is always good practice.
Tom Korn on 2016-03-15 21:47:04 | Question: Can I use Teamac coating on existing sound but worn bitumen sheeting. |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Yes, it should be fine to use on this but we would recommend a test is done for adhesion before applying the coating to the entire area. The more weathered the sheeting is the better, as this should mean it will be more porous and provide better adhesion.
John Ravenhill on 2016-03-07 15:17:42 | Question: Is teamac acrylic coating ok to use on the under side of a ribbed asbestos roof? |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team: Yes, it can be applied directly in two coats after cleaning. Be sure to follow government and local authoriy guidelines - further information on this can be provided by our Technical Department upon request.
