Teamac Metalastic Metal Protective Paint Colours
This single-component protective paint is a versatile solution designed to safeguard and enhance the appearance of various surfaces, particularly metal and wood. Engineered to deliver a high-gloss finish, it offers long-lasting durability and resistance to harsh weather conditions, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications. Available in a wide range of colours, this product is suitable for diverse aesthetic preferences and functional needs.
Applications
The paint is perfect for use in industrial settings, such as factories, warehouses, and farm buildings, where durable surface protection is crucial. It is also well-suited for residential projects, including roofs, barns, and general steelwork. The paint adheres excellently to metal and wood surfaces, providing a robust barrier against moisture, corrosion, and other environmental factors. However, it is important to avoid using this product on surfaces that are constantly submerged in water or exposed to high temperatures, as this may compromise its protective qualities.
Application Guidelines
For optimal results, ensure that surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, dry, and free from grease, oil, or other contaminants. On bare steel, it is recommended to perform blast cleaning to SA 2½ standard or use mechanical cleaning methods. When applying the paint, use a brush, roller, or airless spray, ensuring even coverage and adherence. Allow the paint to dry for a minimum of 12 hours before applying additional coats, if necessary. It is advisable to apply the paint in a well-ventilated area, especially in confined spaces.
Limitations
This paint should not be applied in conditions where the temperature is below the dew point, as this could lead to improper adhesion. Additionally, the product should not be used on surfaces that are frequently exposed to chemicals or extreme abrasion. If you are unsure about the suitability of this product for your specific application, please consult the technical data sheet or contact our technical services team for further advice.
Recommended Products
For optimal performance on metal surfaces, consider using the Teamac Zinc Phosphate Metal Primer as a base coat before applying this paint. For wood surfaces, the Teamac Wood Primer is recommended. These primers enhance adhesion and extend the lifespan of the final coating.
