Hempadur Tiecoat 49183 is an anticorrosive two-component epoxy for atmospheric and immersion service, used as a "tiecoat" between epoxy and physically drying coatings.
For immersion service, it can also replace a second anti-corrosive primer coat for the underwater coating system and at the same time act as "tiecoat" for antifouling.

Application
- For new build, maintenance and repair
- If used as a sealer on old antifouling, any possible leached layer, patina or old layers with weak intercoat adhesion must be removed prior to application
- Mixing ratio: Base 49187 : Curing agent 98191 (7 : 1 by volume)
- Thin with up to 5% Hempel Thinner 08450 as required
- It is recommended to use fixed volumes/can size for multi-component products. Stir well before use
- Applicable by brush or airless spray. Nozzle pressure: 230 bar [3300 psi] Nozzle orifice: 0.023-0.023"
- Lower paint temperatures may require extra thinning, which will result in lower film build and slower drying. Spray data are indicative and subject to adjustment. Pressure is for a material temperature of 20°C
- Optimal paint temperature for proper mixing, pumping and spraying is: 20-25°C
- To avoid condensation, apply on a clean and dry surface with a temperature that is at least 3°C above the dew point
- Surface temperature must be above -10°C during application and curing
- Clean with Hempel Tool Cleaner 99610 after use
- Touch dry in 3 minutes @ 20°C

Hempel Thinner 08450
Hempel's Thinner 08450 is a general purpose thinner for Hempadur qualities. For paint to be applied in a low film thickness (for instance as a "sealer coat") or if the paint has become too thick, e.g. in cold weather Tools can usually be cleaned with the thinner prescribed for the product
