Watco Wallseal seals and hardens new and old dusty, porous walls, stopping dust and making them easy to clean. It is micro-porous which allows the surface to breathe.

Watco Wallseal contains a micronised acrylic which penetrates deep into porous surfaces to bind, harden and seal. The cross linking properties of the acrylic dries to form a surface film, providing a stain resistant, easier to clean finish.

The appearance can vary from low sheen to gloss depending upon the porosity of the substrate and the number of coats applied. It is quick and easy to apply and suitable for anywhere a clean, dustproofed environment is desirable.

Wallseal is breathable, virtually solvent free and safe for use in confined areas. It has an A+ VOC emissions rating with a very low VOC content.

Surface Preparation

Minimal preparation is required. If applying to weak, dusty, friable surfaces, e.g. old brick or masonry, a good brush down is probably all that is required to remove the worst of the dust and loose material. It is important that the wall surface is porous to allow the Wallseal to penetrate.

If the surface is greasy or oily, first clean with Watco Bio-D, a water based biodegradable degreaser.

Wallseal must be applied to a dry surface, not wet, however, if any residual damp remains as a result of cleaning, this is acceptable.

Avoid wetting very porous surfaces since they will absorb too much water.

Application

Give the container a shake and pour some Wallseal into a paint tray or similar.

Use a brush or roller to apply a generous amount to the wall, working it into the surface as it runs down.

The porous wall should be allowed to absorb as much product as it can. The more it absorbs, the more effective it will be. This is why the the surface should be as dry as possible when the product is applied. One good coat is generally sufficient. To seal a particularly porous surface, additional coat(s) may be required.
