Tough, GRP tiles with raised profiles to warn pedestrians of a change in elevation or a hazard ahead. Suitable for concrete, stone, and asphalt.
- Regulation compliant for use near steps and crossings
- Only 4mm thick
- Virtually indestructible GRP that is rot resistant
- Choose from three different styles:
- Corduroy Version - Warns visually impaired people of the presence of hazards such as stairs or pedestrian crossings
- On Street Version - Indicates the edge of a footway near a crossing. Designed with 36 blisters in regular rows and columns on each tile, it helps prevent the visually impaired from inadvertantly walking into a vehicular route
- Off Street Version - The blisters on this tile run parallel in one direction, but are irregular in the other direction. This indicates that movement in one direction is safe, and is ideal for train or light rail platforms
Watco Tactile Plates are available in two colours and three different styles.
Corduroy Version, available only in Buff – Warns visually impaired people of the presence of hazards such as stairs or pedestrian crossings.
Blister Onstreet Version, available in Buff or Tile Red – Indicates the edge of a footway near a crossing. Designed with 36 blisters in regular rows and columns on each tile, it helps prevent the visually impaired from inadvertantly walking into a vehicular route.
Blister Offstreet Version, available only in Buff – The blisters on this tile run parallel in one direction, but are irregular in the other direction. This indicates that movement in one direction is safe, and is ideal for train or light rail platforms.

Fixing
Watco Tactile Plates can be glued or screw fixed to the substrate. If the substrate is reasonably smooth and even, Watco GRP Polyurethane Adhesive can be used. The substrate should be clean and dry. A mechanical fixing is not generally required.
If the substrate is uneven, Watco Adhesive Mastic can be used as a gap filling adhesive. When using Watco Adhesive Mastic we recommended that a screw fixing is made in each corner of each tile. The plate is easily drilled and any type of screw and Rawlplug fixing can be used which best suits the substrate. Watco Adhesive Mastic and screw fixings are recommended if the substrate is damp, very cold, contaminated or in generally poor condition.
Watco Adhesive Mastic 310ml tube & Watco GRP Polyurethane Adhesive 295ml tube – Both tubes fit into a standard skeleton gun (also available from Watco). A tube of each adhesive should be sufficient for fixing 7 -10 Watco Tactile Plates depending on the substrate.
