Rust-Oleum Radiator Paint
A top-tier solution for revamping and protecting your radiators. Its ultra-durable, smooth finish not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of your radiators but also provides a robust protective layer. Available in a variety of colours such as white, grey, and anthracite, it ensures a match for any decor.
Application and Usage
This radiator paint can be applied directly to previously painted or primed radiators. It is essential to turn off the radiator and allow it to cool to room temperature before application. The product can be applied using a brush or a short to medium nap mohair roller. Two coats are recommended for the best results.
Preparation is key: ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contamination. For bare metal surfaces, a suitable metal primer should be used. Abrade and degrease previously painted surfaces for optimal adhesion.
Performance and Durability
This radiator paint withstands high temperatures up to 60°C and features a water-based formula with virtually no odour, making it safe for indoor use. It dries quickly, being touch dry in just 1 hour and hard dry in 4 hours, allowing for efficient project completion.
The paint’s non-yellowing property ensures it retains its colour over time, and its resistance to mould and algae keeps radiators looking fresh and clean. It is also highly concentrated and offers exceptional coverage, making it a cost-effective solution for home improvements.
Limitations and Recommendations
This product is not suitable for use over chrome surfaces, towel rails, or any surfaces with temperatures above 60°C. Always refer to the downloadable data sheet for more detailed information and guidelines on proper usage.

Questions
Question about the product
pat shah on 2024-07-31 18:49:29 | Question:
Good Morning, I have a number of Dimplex night storage heaters that I would like to repaint. Can you please confirm that the Rust-Oleum Radiator Paint can be used safely to repaint my storage heater. If not appropriate, can you please suggest/recommend a paint that will work. Kind Regards Pat |
Answer from Rawlins’ Technical Team:
Assuming the radiators have been turned off and allowed to cool to room temperature, and are clean, dry, sound and free from contamination, this product can be applied to previously painted radiator surfaces (or original factory finish) that don't exceed temperatures of 60C and above. 2 coats are recommended, with at least 4 hours drying time between each coat, and a minimum 4 hour time between the final coat and allowing the heater back in use. The heater should be run at low heat for 2 hours before gradually increasing temperatures. | |
