Mapecrete Li Hardener - Advanced Surface Treatment Solution
Penetrates and chemically reacts with the free lime in cementitious substrates. This process forms a dense microstructure that is both chemically durable and resistant to abrasion. Ideal for both new and old floors, Mapecrete LI Hardener enhances the shine, durability, and cleanliness of treated surfaces.
Where to Use
Mapecrete LI Hardener is versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications:
- Surface consolidation of industrial and civil floors, such as warehouses, shopping centres, car parks, garages, and craft workshops.
- Surface protection to increase resistance to abrasion, scratches, and aesthetic defects.
- Final surface treatment after polishing concrete flooring.
- Dust-repellent treatment for industrial and civil floors.
Technical Characteristics
A solution of modified lithium silicates, penetrates superficially into cementitious materials, reacting with the lime produced during the hydration phase of cement. This reaction forms highly resistant, non-soluble hydrate silicates, which increase the density and strength of the cementitious paste. Unlike film-forming products, Mapecrete LI Hardener does not create a continuous surface layer, making it resistant to scratching and detachment.
Advantages
- Non-film forming treatment that chemically reacts with the substrate.
- Easy application and use.
- Enhances resistance to abrasion and mechanical stress.
- Reduces dust formation, keeping floors cleaner.
- Improves the appearance and shine of treated surfaces.
- Increases the overall durability of floors.
- Free from sodium or potassium, preventing damaging alkali-aggregate reactions.
- Simplifies maintenance of treated floors.
Application
Mapecrete LI Hardener can be applied to concrete surfaces just 2-3 days after casting or immediately on cured surfaces. The surface must be sound, clean, dry, and free of any substances that could prevent penetration. Application involves spraying the product or spreading it with a low-pressure pump, ensuring the surface remains wet for 20-30 minutes to allow proper penetration. Excess liquid should be removed after this period, followed by drying and polishing the surface.
Recommendations
- Do not apply on dusty, crumbling, or flimsy substrates.
- Avoid application on dirty surfaces or those soaked with oil/grease.
- Ensure surfaces are evenly dry with no stagnant water before application.
Safety and Storage
Mapecrete LI Hardener should be stored in its original packaging, in a dry area at temperatures between +5°C and +40°C, protected from frost. Safety instructions for preparation and application can be found in the downloadable Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
Health and Safety
- Not classified as hazardous for transport.
- Contains no Diisocyanates.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment and handle in well-ventilated areas.
